Fairtrade Conferences for Fairtrade Fortnight 2016

For 2016 the theme is ‘Around The World’ and we’re inviting schools to join fairandfunky and leading workshop practitioners Coeur De Xocolat, Fair Grounds, The Fairtrade Foundation and Fair Connections, for a full day of creative and interactive sessions.

 

Friday March 4th 2016 – Creative and Studio Media School in HUDDERSFIELD – sponsored by Stafflex

 

At the fairandfunky Fairtrade Conference for Schools at The Creative Media and Studio School on 4th March 2016 delegates will take part in the following workshops:

 

  • Fair Connections – Join puppet ‘Fairis’ and his friends on an adventure through Nepal, learning about Fairtrade on the way.
  • fairandfunky – Play Fair! Meet the makers of the Fairtrade football and learn about their lives in Pakistan.
  • Coeur De Xocolat – The journey of ‘Bean to Bar’; learning about producers in Ghana, and tasting Fairtrade chocolate!
  • Fair Grounds – ‘Old news, new hope’ Learn about a family in the Philippines and their Fairtrade co-operative; and create a recycled newspaper photo frame.

Thursday March 10th 2016 – The Al Hikmah Centre – IMWS in BATLEY – sponsored by Traidcraft

 

At the fairandfunky Fairtrade Conference for Schools at IMWS in Batley on 10th March 2016 delegates will take part in the following workshops:

 

  • The Fairtrade Foundation – Travel around the world and ‘Stand Up For Farmers’. Discover where your food comes from and who grows it.
  • fairandfunky – Play Fair! Meet the makers of the Fairtrade football and learn about their lives in Pakistan.
  • Coeur De Xocolat – The journey of ‘Bean to Bar’; learning about producers in Ghana, and tasting Fairtrade chocolate!

Each school is invited to bring along 8 students and 2 members of staff, who will all take part in 4 workshops, and lunchtime activities. All delegates will receive an event goody bag and each school will be presented with a certificate and a Fairtrade football.
