Holme Valley Green Week is a festival of ideas curated by us, fairandfunky, inspired by the national campaign from The Climate Coalition. We are proud to have grown the event organically over the last few years from a small meeting of like-minded people to a week of busy, buzzing events. And this year we have secured funding from The One Community Foundation to extend the festival of ideas to also involve schools and community groups to create a collaborative artwork – watch this space!
On Monday 22nd September we invite you to GREEN DRINKS A relaxed social for people interested in sustainability issues, for businesses working to improve their impact on the planet and for those of us making a difference at home, to get together and chat about the challenges and successes this brings! This month we welcome Dark Woods Coffee to the guest speaker slot to talk about sourcing, roasting, packaging, delivering and drinking ethical coffee! It’s a fascinating business model and we guarantee you’ll leave inspired. Join us at Café Root in Holmfirth from 6 – 8pm. A free event but please CLICK HERE sign up to the event.
On Thursday 25th September we launch THE GREAT BIG GREEN MARKETPLACE. New for 2025! It’s a Coopers Yard takeover bringing a range of local businesses who all sell a range of ethical gifts and products. Expect household goodies, soaps, artwork, jewellery, clothing, pottery and more! All either made locally, organic, vegan, recycled or Fairtrade. Come and SHOP WITH US ALL at Coopers Yard in Holmfirth from 4pm – 9pm (before tea, after tea or for your tea!)
Then on Friday 26th September we host THE GREAT BIG GREEN GET TOGETHER! A community café, a book swap, and lots of information from businesses and organisations to share ideas, gather ideas and generate ideas to take little steps to change the world. And as it’s also Fairtrade Fortnight there will be Fairtrade chocolate for you to enjoy with your brews and bakes! Pop in to Holmfirth Tech between 10am – 1pm for a Great Big Green Get Together!
Please do invite all your friends and family to these events so we get HUGE audiences! And keep an eye out on social media for all our workshops and event news through the week and beyond.
