Fairtrade SCRAPtastic are innovative creative workshops introducing Fairtrade to early years and KS1 or deepening knowledge and understanding with KS2. In each workshop students discover the importance of Fairtrade to farmers around the world and create individual artworks from recycled materials to carry the Fairtrade message out of the classroom. Please click here to see the full range of Fairtrade SCRAPtastic workshops.

‘Coffee Break’ is suitable for KS2, focusing on the journey of coffee from bean to barista students explore the supply chain of coffee through engaging child centred activities. With insightful questioning, thoughtful debate, games and video the workshop empowers students to think about where their food comes from, and the role of the consumer to ensure a sustainable supply chain. Each student also makes their own Fairtrade mark using coffee beans.

“A really important workshop for my students; relevant content, resources and activities enhanced their awareness of supply chains, and the food journeys of our everyday produce. Gave real understanding about Fairtrade and helped children to empathise with the farmers.” Salterhebble J&I School – Year 5 Teacher Feedback
